The Mount Pleasant Music Studio (MPMS) is a collection of music instructors. They operate independently, but are united in their love of music and their desire to share this enthusiasm with the next generation. With over two decades of experience teaching professionally, you know you are in good hands with us!
Ross Howell

Ross Howell is the owner and operator of the Mount Pleasant Music Studio. Ross has been teaching guitar and other instruments professionally since 2001. He got his start teaching at Guitar Central in Mount Pleasant, and moved on to the Hammer Music Studio in 2005. The School of Rock program was begun in 2006. Ross has been involved in music throughout in elementary school years, high school, college, and beyond. In addition to his academic music experience, Ross has also played in area bands. Experienced with several instruments, he is frequently asked which is his favorite. The answer is always: whichever one he's playing at the time! Ross feels that music in all its variety can have a positive and meaningful impact on the development of students of all ages, not just as musicians but as people. He's thankful to have the opportunity to share his enthusiasm for music and help people discover their own talents as musicians. Ross offers instruction on several instruments in the guitar family: acoustic or electric, 6-string guitar, Tenor guitar, Baritone guitar, and Ukulele.. Bass: 4, 5, and 6-string basses, fretted and fretless. Folk: Mandolin, Banjo.
